Job summary

ATS Client in Cape Town is seeking a hands-on Senior Engineer to advance our Oracle Forms/PL/SQL estate within a collaborative on-site team. You will tackle business-critical systems, improve performance and lead technical discussions.

You will mentor developers, contribute to CI/CD, unit tests, code reviews, and strengthen integrations across REST, SOAP and WCF while documenting learnings and best practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Forms and PL/SQL in large-scale production systems.
• Ability to identify root causes, refactor for performance and reliability.
• Hands-on expertise in building and debugging REST/SOAP/WCF integrations.
• Familiarity with XML/JSON payload handling and integration patterns.
• Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines, tests and code reviews.

2. Improve the performance, maintainability and reliability of existing application code through targeted refactoring and optimisation.
3. Resolve complex production and database issues by identifying root causes, implementing durable fixes and documenting learning.
4. Build and strengthen production integrations across REST, SOAP and WCF services, using appropriate XML and JSON payload handling.
5. Raise delivery quality by contributing to unit testing, test planning, code reviews, documentation and CI/CD practices.
6. Mentor and influence fellow developers through technical design sessions, practical guidance and sound engineering standards.
