Job summary

impact.com is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own and grow reliability for the Content Intelligence & Regulatory Apps Group. You will implement SRE disciplines to ensure measurable, repeatable reliability across content indexing, monitoring, and enrichment pipelines on GCP.

You will lead SLO/SLI governance, observability, and incident RCA while collaborating with Platform Engineering, Cloud Operations, and security to harden systems and control costs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in SRE or similar roles supporting production services.
• Solid understanding of reliability, failure modes, and performance.
• Experience with Java/Spring and JVM tuning.
• Cloud & Kubernetes experience (GCP/GKE preferred).
• Observability, metrics, logging, tracing proficiency.
• Security & compliance awareness in production environments.
• Familiarity with SLOs/SLIs.
• Ability to collaborate and influence engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define meaningful SLOs/SLIs for services on GCP with each squad.
• Build security and auditability as reliability properties.
• Drive vulnerability remediation for JVM, Spring Boot, and containers.
• Establish a blameless RCA practice.
• Develop and mature observability with Grafana/OpenTelemetry.
• Monitor performance: latency, JVM GC, CPU, memory.
• Improve batch and orchestration reliability.
• Support database performance and query optimization.
• Understand client workloads and surface anomalous traffic.
• Establish alerting and runbooks.
• Troubleshoot across stack including JVM, Spring, MySQL, Pub/Sub, etc.
• Improve CI/CD and GitOps deployments.
• Capacity and cost analysis with FinOps.
• Leave things more reliable than found.
