Job summary

Our client, a leading force in the South African construction industry, seeks a Senior Site Manager to lead a flagship residential development in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The role demands technical expertise, strong leadership, and proactive project execution to deliver on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day operations, coordinate with subcontractors, enforce safety, and drive procurement and progress reporting across the project

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive site management experience in construction, with residential focus.
• Proven track record managing large-scale residential projects.
• Knowledge of South Africa building codes and safety legislation.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to manage diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring plans, specs, and timelines are met.
• Supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel for productivity and quality.
• Enforce health and safety regulations with regular site inspections.
• Manage procurement and delivery of materials and resources; control costs.
• Monitor progress, identify risks, and take corrective actions to avoid delays.
