About the Role

Our client, a leading force in the South African construction industry, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Construction Site Manager to oversee a significant new development project in Midrand, Gauteng. This role is pivotal to the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Manage and coordinate all site personnel, including subcontractors, tradespeople, and laborers, ensuring productivity and quality.
• Develop and implement detailed construction schedules, monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments to meet deadlines.
• Implement and enforce strict health and safety protocols across the site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Manage site logistics, including material procurement, equipment deployment, and waste management.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve potential issues, defects, or safety hazards.
• Prepare and submit regular progress reports to senior management, detailing project status, challenges, and financial performance.
• Foster positive relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities.
• Ensure all work is carried out to the highest quality standards, conducting final inspections and coordinating punch list completion.

Requirements

• A relevant degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction management, with at least 3 years in a senior site management role.
• Proven experience managing large-scale commercial or residential construction projects in Midrand, Gauteng, or similar urban environments.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulatory requirements in South Africa.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and standard office applications.
• Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the Midrand, Gauteng area as needed.
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
