Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Site Manager in Pietermaritzburg to lead a high-value development from planning through handover. You will manage on-site teams, subcontractors, safety, and quality across multiple sites, ensuring on-time delivery within budget.

The role requires a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, 8+ years in site management, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive site management experience.
• Experience in large-scale commercial/residential projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Direct on-site construction activities ensuring adherence to specifications, codes and safety.
• Coordinate subcontractors, engineers, and site personnel for seamless execution.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address issues.
• Manage site logistics, material procurement, and equipment deployment.
• Maintain daily reports, progress updates and financial records.
• Uphold health, safety and environmental regulations on site.
• Serve as primary liaison with clients, consultants and authorities.
