Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Site Engineer in Rustenburg, North West Province, to lead on-site civil infrastructure projects. You will supervise construction activities, ensure adherence to plans and quality standards, and manage schedules, resources and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in site engineering, Pr Eng/Tech Eng preferred, and strong leadership and communication skills to coordinate with contractors and the design team.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng registration with ECSA preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of site engineering and construction management experience.
• Experience managing large civil infrastructure projects with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and QC processes.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with project management software and construction drawings.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; able to work under pressure.
• Valid driver's license for site mobility in Rustenburg

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on‑site construction activities for civil engineering projects.
• Ensure that construction work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement detailed construction schedules and monitor progress against milestones.
• Manage site resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, ensuring efficient utilization.
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify and rectify any deviations or quality issues.

• Manage site documentation, including RFI logs, site instructions, and daily records.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to provide project updates and address concerns.
• Ensure the proper handover of completed project sections.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA is preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in site engineering and construction management for civil infrastructure projects.
• Demonstrated experience in managing large construction sites and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control processes.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software and construction drawing interpretation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Valid driver's license is essential for site mobility in and around Rustenburg .
