Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Engineer to lead on-site execution of major infrastructure projects around Polokwane, Limpopo. You will oversee site teams, coordinate subcontractors, ensure safety, quality, and timely delivery while aligning with design specs.

The ideal candidate has a BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering, P.Eng registration is desirable, and at least 7 years in site engineering and construction supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level civil engineering degree required (BEng or BSc).
• Proven leadership and team-management abilities on large-scale sites.
• Strong knowledge of earthworks, road construction, drainage and concrete works.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all civil site works (earthworks, roads, drainage, concrete structures).

About the Role

Our client, a prominent civil engineering contractor, is seeking a highly experienced and proactive Senior Site Engineer to manage and oversee the on-site execution of major infrastructure projects in and around Polokwane, Limpopo . This role is critical for ensuring that construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications and project timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality control, and site management principles. You will be responsible for leading the site engineering team, coordinating subcontractors, and liaising with the main project management team to ensure successful project delivery in the Limpopo region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all civil engineering site works, including earthworks, road construction, drainage, and concrete structures.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved designs, specifications, and quality standards.
• Develop and implement site-specific construction methodologies and work plans.
• Manage site resources, including labor, plant, and materials, to optimize efficiency.
• Oversee the setting out of works and ensure accuracy of construction.
• Implement and enforce strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols on site.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site progress reports.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and the main project management team.
• Resolve site-related issues and challenges promptly and effectively.

Requirements

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional registration (Pr Eng) with ECSA is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in site engineering and construction supervision, preferably on infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in managing site operations, including earthworks, road construction, and concrete works.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site safety regulations.
• Proficiency in site engineering tools and surveying equipment.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and motivate a site team effectively.
• Experience working on projects in the Limpopo province, specifically around Polokwane , is a significant advantage.
