Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Site Engineer to oversee on-site construction in Cape Town. You will mentor the construction crew, liaise with project management, contractors, and labor, and ensure compliance with design specs, safety standards, and timelines.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, at least 5 years of site experience, and a proven track record in managing complex construction challenges for infrastructure projects in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of site engineering experience in construction.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
• Implement and monitor health and safety protocols on the construction site to ensure a secure working environment.
• Conduct quality control inspections and testing of materials and workmanship to guarantee compliance with standards.
• Manage site labor, subcontractors, and equipment effectively to optimize productivity and resource utilization.
• Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, providing guidance to the construction crew.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and required interventions.
