Utopiadesign in Sandton is seeking a Senior Site Agent to lead a major civil infrastructure project. You will manage site activities, coordinate resources, ensure QA/QC and HSE compliance, and report progress daily.

The ideal candidate has a National Diploma or Bachelors in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 9+ years in site management, and hands-on leadership of large-scale projects. Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6 is preferred; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 9+ years of site management experience, with 5+ years in Senior Site Agent or equivalent.
• Experience managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects (roads, earthworks, bridges, pipelines).
• Proficiency in construction methods, materials, and SA safety standards (OHS Act).
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all site activities to ensure project objectives are met safely, on time, and within budget.
• Lead, motivate, and manage site teams, including engineers, foremen, and subcontractors.
• Develop and implement detailed site execution plans, work programs, and resource schedules.
• Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures on site.
• Implement and maintain robust quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement proactive solutions.
• Manage site logistics, including plant, equipment, materials, and personnel.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project alignment.
• Control site expenditure and manage resources efficiently to maintain project profitability.
• Maintain comprehensive site records, including daily reports, progress updates, safety documentation, and as-built information.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• A minimum of 9 years of experience in site management, with at least 5 years in a Senior Site Agent or equivalent role within the civil engineering construction industry.
• Proven experience managing large-scale civil infrastructure projects (e.g., roads, earthworks, bridges, pipelines).
• In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and relevant South African building codes and safety standards (OHS Act).
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site in Sandton and surrounding areas.
