Job summary
Placements24 seeks a Lead Geoscientist specialized in seismic interpretation for our client in the George, Western Cape region. The role combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility to advance exploration projects, de-risk prospects, and mentor junior staff.
The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in seismic interpretation within Oil & Gas, strong software proficiency (Petrel, Kingdom, HampsonRussell), and a track record of delivering integrated subsurface insights in hybrid
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Geoscience or related field.
- 10+ years of seismic interpretation experience in Oil & Gas.
- Proficient with Petrel, Kingdom Suite & HampsonRussell.
- Experience in hybrid work environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead the geological interpretation of 2D/3D seismic data for exploration & appraisal.
- Integrate seismic data with well logs, cores & other geophysical data.
- Identify & evaluate hydrocarbon prospects; assess risks & reserves.
- Apply seismic processing/interpretation techniques (velocity analysis, AVO, attributes).
- Mentor junior geoscientists & collaborate with reservoir engineers & geologists.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations & prospect evaluations.
