Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Safety Engineer to join our global operations team in a fully remote role focused on South African facilities, including Nelspruit.

You will develop and implement robust safety management systems, conduct risk assessments and incident investigations, deliver safety training, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture across sites. Strong stakeholder influencing and independent work are essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in safety engineering, preferably in industrial/chemical environments.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Experience with risk assessment methodologies and incident investigations.
• Ability to work remotely and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain safety management systems (SMS) and policies.
• Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses (HAZOP, FMEA), and safety audits.

Key Responsibilities
