Placements24 seeks a Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer for a prominent industrial processing company in Klerksdorp. You will oversee design, specification, installation, operation, and maintenance of rotating equipment to ensure peak performance and reliability.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in rotating equipment, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work with contractors and plant teams. PE certification is a plus; on-site presence is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of rotating equipment experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of rotating machinery types and applications.
• Experience developing maintenance and reliability programs.
• Familiarity with API, ASME, and ISO standards.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and project management abilities.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and data.
• On-site experience in Klerksdorp.
• PE certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the specification, selection and procurement of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, motors).
• Develop maintenance strategies to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
• Conduct evaluations and performance analysis of existing equipment.
• Oversee troubleshooting of equipment operation and maintenance issues.
• Provide expert guidance to plant engineers, maintenance teams and project managers.
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure quality of external contractor work.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies and risk assessments.
• Develop and maintain datasheets, P&IDs, manuals, and repair procedures.
• Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance with industry codes and safety regulations.
