JG Afrika (Pty) Ltd in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks an experienced Senior Roads and Highway Engineer to lead design and delivery of roads projects from inception to completion.

The ideal candidate is professionally registered (Pr Eng, ECSA), has 15+ years in roads/highways, and can mentor graduates while engaging clients and stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes in a consulting environment.

Formación

• Minimum 15 years’ post-graduate experience in roads/highways.
• Experience in a consulting engineering environment.
• Proven roads/highways geometric and drainage design experience.
• Experience in contract documentation and engineering reports.
• Experience in project management and technical leadership.
• Experience mentoring junior staff.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage roads and highways projects from inception to completion.
• Undertake geometric and drainage design for roads/highways.
• Prepare engineering designs using AutoCAD and Civil Designer/Civil 3D.
• Develop contract documentation and technical specifications.
• Manage project deliverables, budgets, schedules and resources.
• Provide technical leadership and oversight on projects.
• Prepare and review technical reports, proposals and correspondence.
• Conduct field investigations, site inspections and supervision.
• Administer and manage contracts per project requirements.
• Develop innovative and practical engineering solutions for clients.
• Mentor and develop graduate and junior engineers and technicians.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, authorities and stakeholders.
• Travel within South Africa and potentially elsewhere in Africa as required.
