Placements24 is seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to join our client’s team in Bloemfontein, Free State. You will identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks across operations and product lines, developing robust risk frameworks and models for strategic decision-making.

The role requires 5+ years in risk analysis with strong quantitative skills, experience in IFRS 17/Solvency II, and proficiency in Python/R/SAS and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Math or Statistics.
• 5+ years of experience in risk analysis, financial modeling, or related roles in financial services/insurance.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software and Excel.
• Knowledge of Solvency II and IFRS 17 regulatory frameworks.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify, assess, and quantify financial risks across markets and portfolios.
• Develop, implement, and maintain risk management frameworks and policies.
• Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to gauge impact of adverse events.
• Build and maintain risk models using quantitative techniques.
• Monitor exposures and ensure regulatory compliance and risk appetite.
• Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management and committees.
• Collaborate across departments to embed a strong risk culture.
• Stay updated on emerging risks and best practices.
