About the Role

Our client is a leading energy exploration and production company seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, managing reservoir performance, and contributing to the company's strategic planning. We are looking for an individual with a proven track record in reservoir characterization, simulation, and economic analysis within the Oil & Gas sector. This role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reservoir management strategies to maximize asset value.
• Perform detailed reservoir characterization using geological and engineering data.
• Conduct reservoir simulation studies to predict future performance and evaluate development options.
• Analyze production data and perform decline curve analysis.
• Estimate reserves and conduct economic evaluations for new projects and ongoing operations.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, production engineers, and management to define drilling and development plans.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical development of the team.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, Tempest, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with decline curve analysis, material balance, and volumetric methods.
• Proven ability in reserve estimation and economic evaluation techniques.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Python or R is a plus.
