Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Senior Remote Virtual Production Artist to lead the creation and integration of high‑fidelity 3D assets for real‑time cinematics in film, TV, and games. Work from anywhere with a strong portfolio and autonomy.

You will master Unreal Engine or Unity, collaborate with directors, and optimize pipelines for performance while mentoring junior artists in a distributed team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• 7+ years of professional experience in 3D modeling, texturing, lighting, and rendering for real-time applications.
• Proven experience in virtual production or real-time cinematics for film, TV, or games.
• Proficiency in Maya/3ds Max/Blender and texturing tools like Substance Painter/Designer and Photoshop.
• Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine or Unity with material editors, lighting, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of cinematography, composition, and art direction principles.
• Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote, distributed team.
• Portfolio showing real-time asset creation and virtual production work.
• Experience with Perforce or Git for version control.

Responsibilities

• Create, optimize, and integrate high-quality 3D assets and environments for real-time pipelines.
• Develop materials, textures, and lighting to achieve photorealistic or stylized looks.
• Operate and troubleshoot in virtual production environments using Unreal Engine or Unity.
• Collaborate with directors, cinematographers, and supervisors to realize the creative vision.
• Implement and manage assets in real-time engines ensuring performance and fidelity.
• Refine workflows for asset creation, integration, and optimization in virtual production.
• Provide technical guidance to junior artists within the remote team.
• Contribute to development of proprietary tools and pipeline enhancements.
• Stay updated on real-time rendering and virtual production advancements.
• Ensure assets meet project-specific technical and artistic requirements.
