Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer with a strong focus on supply chain and logistics for a fully remote role in South Africa. You will design, analyze, and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations using data analytics, simulation, and process improvement methodologies to reduce costs and boost customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering with expertise in modeling, network design, and optimization techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial engineering with focus on supply chain and logistics.
• Proven expertise in supply chain modeling, network design, and optimization techniques.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize all aspects of the supply chain, including warehousing, inventory management, transportation, and last-mile delivery.
• Develop and implement advanced logistical models and network designs to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
• Utilize simulation software and data analytics to model various supply chain scenarios and identify optimal solutions.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying lean and Six Sigma principles to streamline operations and eliminate waste.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners through virtual communication channels.
• Develop and track KPIs for supply chain performance and identify areas for enhancement.
• Research and recommend innovative technologies and strategies to enhance supply chain capabilities and resilience.
• Create and maintain comprehensive process documentation, SOPs, and best practice guides for remote access.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior management on supply chain optimization and future planning.
• Manage and execute improvement projects, ensuring successful implementation and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, Simul8), data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python), and visualization platforms.
• Excellent virtual communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, e-commerce or logistics environment is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive change remotely.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
