Job summary

Astron Energy is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to monitor and optimise refinery units, lead engineering studies, and deliver value through process improvements. The ideal candidate has a BSc/BEng in Chemical Engineering with 8–12 years of direct refining experience, strong distillation and hydro-processing knowledge, and excellent stakeholder engagement. This on-site role supports safe, efficient operations and capability development.

Qualifications

Bachelor or higher in Chemical Engineering with 8–12 years of direct refining experience.
Masters or advanced coursework not required but advantageous.
Strong understanding of refinery processes, safety, and project execution.

Responsibilities

Monitor and optimise refinery units to maximise production and minimise costs.
Identify and resolve process, equipment, and operational issues for safe, reliable operation.
Lead process studies and small capital projects, contributing to design packages.
Develop equipment sizing calculations and prepare datasheets and specs.
Maintain process safety information including P&IDs, envelopes and docs.
