About the Role

Our client, a highly respected recruitment consultancy, is seeking a dedicated Senior Recruitment Consultant to join their specialized FMCG & Retail division in Soweto, Gauteng . This role is pivotal in connecting leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and retail companies with exceptional talent across various functions, including sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, and category management. You will manage the entire recruitment process, build enduring relationships with industry clients, and ensure an outstanding candidate experience. Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end recruitment process for roles within the FMCG and Retail sectors. Develop and execute effective sourcing strategies to attract top talent for positions such as Brand Managers, Sales Directors, Supply Chain Specialists, Category Managers, and Store Managers. Conduct thorough candidate interviews and assessments to evaluate skills, experience, and cultural fit for dynamic consumer-facing roles. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders at FMCG and retail companies. Provide expert market insights and consultative advice on talent acquisition, compensation, and industry trends. Generate new business opportunities through proactive client engagement, networking, and market development. Achieve and exceed placement targets and key performance indicators within the FMCG & Retail vertical. Mentor and support junior recruitment consultants, fostering a high-performance team culture. Stay abreast of market trends, consumer behaviour shifts, and innovations within the FMCG and Retail industries.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of experience in recruitment, with a proven specialization in the FMCG and Retail sectors. Demonstrated success in sourcing and placing candidates in critical roles within sales, marketing, supply chain, and operations for these industries. In-depth understanding of the FMCG and Retail landscape, including key players, market dynamics, and typical career paths. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to build rapport and trust with clients and candidates in a fast-paced commercial environment. Proficiency in using recruitment software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and social media for effective sourcing. Ability to work effectively in a dedicated, office-based environment. A relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous. Results-driven with a strong commitment to achieving business goals and client satisfaction.
