Placements24 is seeking a Senior Recruitment Consultant to lead our Engineering division in Pretoria, Gauteng. You will manage client needs, source and interview engineering professionals, and drive end-to-end recruitment processes across mechanical, electrical, civil and chemical disciplines.

You will build strong candidate pipelines, provide market insights, and collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional service to a diverse client base across South Africa.

Qualifications

• 4+ years' experience in recruitment with a focus on engineering sectors.
• Strong understanding of engineering disciplines and sourcing strategies.
• Proven track record of placing engineering professionals.

This role demands a candidate with a strong understanding of the engineering landscape, including fields such as mechanical, electrical, civil, and chemical engineering. You will be responsible for managing the full recruitment lifecycle for engineering professionals, from identifying client needs to sourcing and placing highly skilled candidates. The position offers a hybrid working model, balancing the benefits of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of clients within the engineering sector.
• Source, screen, and interview qualified engineering professionals (e.g., mechanical engineers, project managers, technicians, designers).
• Develop and implement effective candidate sourcing strategies using various platforms and networks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with engineering companies and professionals.
• Manage the recruitment process from initial brief to offer negotiation and acceptance.
• Provide market intelligence and consultancy to clients on talent availability and compensation trends.
• Conduct thorough candidate assessments and provide detailed feedback.
• Collaborate with the wider recruitment team to share best practices and market insights.

Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years' experience in recruitment, with a significant focus on the Engineering sector.
• Deep understanding of various engineering disciplines and required skill sets.
• Proven track record of successfully placing candidates in engineering roles.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and recruitment databases.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field is advantageous.
• Must be based in or able to commute to Pretoria, Gauteng .
