Job summary

Vodacom in Midrand, South Africa, seeks an experienced rebated accounting professional to manage end-to-end rebate income and related accounts receivable. You will ensure accurate recognition, maintain robust controls and support inventory activities, with a focus on month-end close and reconciliations.

The role involves preparing accruals, validating calculations, and generating management reports. Strong SAP and Excel skills, plus 5–7 years of relevant finance experience, are essential.

Qualifications

• Matric is essential.
• Degree in Accounting or related field is essential.
• 5-7 years of relevant finance or accounting experience with month-end reporting, supplier rebates, reconciliations and audits.
• Accounting qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly rebate accrual calculations based on supplier agreements and inputs.
• Validate rebate calculations for completeness and accuracy.
• Process month-end accrual journals within reporting timelines.
• Ensure rebate income is recognised in the correct period and classified appropriately.
• Maintain a rebate tracker by supplier and agreement with references and balances.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for rebate accruals.
• Follow up disputed/overdue claims with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare monthly management reporting on rebate accruals, settlements and ageing.
