Job summary

Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated testing frameworks, ensuring robust software across UI, API, and data layers in a hybrid work setup.

You will lead test strategy, implement frameworks with Selenium WebDriver, Cypress or Playwright, integrate tests into CI/CD, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with developers and product teams to improve quality throughout the SDLC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA and test automation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing automated test frameworks.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or JavaScript for automation.
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools like Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience with API testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Postman, REST Assured).
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies; version control with Git.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement robust automated test frameworks and scripts.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for UI, API, and database layers.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs thoroughly.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Analyze test results, generate reports, and communicate findings to the team.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
• Mentor junior QA engineers and share best practices in automation testing.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in QA automation.
