Takealot.com, South Africa’s leading online retailer, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join our fast-growing engineering team. You will design and implement robust, scalable software in the ecommerce domain, focusing on high-quality production code and reliable services.

You’ll collaborate across teams to own RESTful APIs, contribute to architecture discussions, and help improve non-functional aspects while supporting a 24/7 business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3 to 6 years in a software development role for a mid-level role
• 5 to 10 years in a software development role for a senior role
• Experience with Python in production environments and RESTful APIs

Responsibilities

• Design and build solutions to assist our business users and improve customer experience
• Architect and design solutions with your team
• Develop code with a focus on high-quality production systems
• Maintain and improve automated tests and CI/CD pipelines
• Respond to production incidents and resolve issues across teams
