Job summary

Marvel Placement Consultants is seeking a Project Planner & Scheduler for mining/EPCM projects in South Africa. The role focuses on developing and maintaining complex schedules, coordinating multi‑disciplinary teams and delivering timely progress updates.

The position requires 5–8 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills and proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project. On-site work is required in a mining environment.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years' experience in project planning and scheduling in mining/EPCM/engineering environments.
• Experience developing and maintaining project schedules for mining or capital expenditure programmes.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling methodologies and critical path analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules for mining, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities.
• Establish baselines, WBS, dependencies, durations and milestones.
• Develop integrated schedules aligning engineering deliverables, procurement packages and construction activities.
• Apply critical path methodology to identify activities impacting completion dates.
• Prepare short-term and long-term schedules, including look-ahead plans.
• Coordinate schedule inputs from engineering, procurement, construction and project management teams.
• Monitor progress and ensure schedules reflect current status and forecast completion.
