Placements24 seeks a Senior Project Manager to oversee critical utilities infrastructure projects in Benoni and surrounding Gauteng. You will manage end-to-end delivery of water, sanitation and electricity networks, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, on-time delivery and budget adherence.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with at least 7 years of progressive project management experience in utilities.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee critical utilities infrastructure projects within the Benoni area. This role is central to managing the development, maintenance, and upgrade of essential services such as water, sanitation, and electricity networks. You will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, within budget, and to regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in utility infrastructure management and possess excellent leadership and coordination skills to effectively manage diverse teams, contractors, and community stakeholders, contributing to the essential services that support the Gauteng region.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, execution, and closeout of utility infrastructure projects, including water treatment, pipeline construction, and power distribution.
• Develop detailed project plans, defining scope, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements for utility upgrades and new installations.
• Coordinate effectively with municipal authorities, regulatory bodies, engineering consultants, and construction crews.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and challenges, and implement timely solutions to maintain project integrity.
• Manage project finances, including budget control, cost reporting, and invoice approvals.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management , with a significant focus on utilities infrastructure .
