About the Role

Our client, a leader in financial technology solutions, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex software development lifecycle (SDLC) projects from their Randburg offices. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products on time and within budget. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for guiding cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring seamless project execution from concept to deployment. Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex software development projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders. Manage all phases of the SDLC, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-launch support. Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure financial targets are met. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and impediments proactively. Build and mentor high-performing, cross-functional software development teams. Communicate project status, risks, and key decisions effectively to all stakeholders, including senior management. Ensure adherence to quality standards, coding best practices, and regulatory requirements within the financial sector. Drive continuous improvement within the project teams and processes.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years specifically focused on software development projects. Demonstrated experience leading Agile transformations and managing complex SDLC projects in the financial services industry. In-depth knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum Master certification is a plus). Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MS Project. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail. Understanding of software development principles, architectures, and testing methodologies. Must be based in or willing to relocate to Randburg , Gauteng .
