About the Role

This position is based in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth), Eastern Cape. You will be responsible for guiding agile teams through the entire software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment, ensuring the delivery of cutting-edge financial technology solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple software development projects using agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget management.
• Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives for development teams.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and dependencies, ensuring smooth project execution.
• Manage communication with all stakeholders, including technical teams, business units, and executive leadership.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet client requirements and business objectives.
• Oversee the implementation of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Conduct post-project analysis and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, promoting best practices in software development project management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development project management, with at least 3 years in the FinTech sector.
• Proven experience leading agile development teams and successfully delivering complex software projects.
• In-depth knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), microservices architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
• Experience working in a hybrid model, adapting to the needs of both remote and on-site collaboration in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance within the South African FinTech industry.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
