Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead critical software development projects in Cape Town, Western Cape, ZA. This hybrid role requires you to guide cross-functional teams through the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery, within scope, and budget. You will be responsible for stakeholder management, risk assessment, resource allocation, and fostering a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in Agile methodologies and a proven track record of successfully managing complex software projects. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the delivery of innovative software products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple software development projects using Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Facilitate all project ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
• Effectively communicate project status, updates, and key decisions to stakeholders at all levels.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Build and motivate high-performing, cross-functional project teams.
• Ensure adherence to project quality standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, specifically within software development.
• Proven experience managing projects using Agile frameworks (Scrum Master or Product Owner certification is a plus).
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex software projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana).
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience in stakeholder management and conflict resolution.
• PMP, Prince2, or Agile certification is highly desirable.
