Job summary

SASSO CONSULTING is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join a leading life insurance-focused organisation in Johannesburg. You will lead strategic initiatives, manage cross-functional teams, and ensure delivery of complex business and technology projects with immediate availability.

Key requirements include a Bachelor's degree, PMP/PRINCE2/Agile/Scrum certification, 8–10+ years of experience in Insurance, especially Life Insurance, and proven leadership across enterprise-wide transformations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field.
PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent certification.
8–10+ years’ experience managing complex projects.
Proven Insurance industry experience is essential.
Life Insurance experience preferred.
Strong PM methodologies knowledge.
Experience managing enterprise-wide transformation projects.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic projects within the insurance environment.
Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, timelines, and risk registers.
Collaborate with business, IT, vendors and executive management.
Oversee governance, reporting and steering committee presentations.
Identify, assess and mitigate project risks and issues.
Ensure change management and stakeholder communication throughout lifecycle.
Coordinate cross-functional resources to achieve objectives.
Drive continuous improvement in delivery methodologies and governance.
Ensure compliance with organisational standards and regulatory requirements.
