Job summary

Isilumko Staffing seeks an experienced Portfolio Manager to oversee and grow a client portfolio in the insurance sector. You will build strong client and broker relationships, deliver commercially sound insurance solutions, and collaborate with internal teams to meet portfolio targets.

You will manage cross-functional activities, analyze financial data, participate in renewals and pricing, and ensure compliant client documentation while driving new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years' experience in insurance and/or general business.
• Strong knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• FAIS compliant – advantageous.
• Project management experience – advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow an existing portfolio of clients and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and key stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain a pipeline of new business opportunities.
• Engage with senior stakeholders, including Financial Managers, Financial Directors and Risk Managers.
• Analyse financial statements, budgets, actuarial information and portfolio data.
• Participate in renewals, pricing discussions and the development of insurance solutions.
• Coordinate with Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial and Claims teams.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, renewals and new business targets.
• Prepare regular portfolio, prospect and management reports.
• Ensure accurate client documentation and compliance with internal processes.
• Resolve client queries and manage delivery against key deadlines.
