About the Role

Our client, a prominent real estate development firm with a strong portfolio in commercial and residential properties, is seeking an accomplished Senior Project Manager to lead high-impact infrastructure development projects in Centurion, Gauteng. This role is central to overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex construction and development initiatives, ensuring they meet stringent quality, budget, and timeline requirements. The successful candidate will possess a robust background in project management within the construction or property development sectors, coupled with exceptional leadership and stakeholder management abilities. This position offers the chance to contribute to significant urban development projects in a vibrant economic region. This role requires a blend of strategic oversight and hands-on project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure development projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to design, procurement, construction, and handover.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
• Oversee and coordinate all project activities, including site surveys, permitting, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory approvals.
• Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
• Monitor project progress against established milestones, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies promptly.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and environmental compliance throughout the project duration.
• Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects remain financially viable.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders, including investors, government agencies, and community representatives.
• Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on large-scale infrastructure or property development projects.
• Proven experience managing projects from inception to completion, with a strong understanding of construction methodologies and development processes.
• Demonstrated success in managing budgets exceeding R50 million.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
• Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental laws relevant to South Africa.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing remote planning with on-site supervision in Centurion, Gauteng.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
