Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee major construction and development projects in George, Western Cape. You will manage all phases from feasibility to handover, ensuring quality, safety and sustainability while meeting budget and timeline targets.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking and a proven ability to navigate large-scale developments. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, and regulators to deliver landmark projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in managing construction and development projects.
• Proven track record in commercial, residential, or industrial building projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes and regulations.
• Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera P6).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage budgets and control costs on large-scale projects.
• Professional registration (e.g., Pr. CPM, Pr. Eng) is advantageous.
• Experience in George, Western Cape is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, budget and resource allocation across projects.
• Oversee site operations; enforce safety, quality and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for project success.
• Manage procurement, tendering, contracts, and contractor performance.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Ensure cost control and accurate financial reporting throughout the lifecycle.
• Conduct site inspections and progress meetings to maintain momentum.
• Lead project close-out, docs, and handover; maintain client relationships.
