Job summary

Weir Minerals Shared Services Proprietary Limited in Johannesburg seeking a Senior Project Engineer to manage full project lifecycles onsite. You will liaise with clients on technical and commercial matters while coordinating with internal teams to meet scope, timelines and budgets.

The role requires a BSc/B Tech in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering and at least five years of multi-disciplinary PM experience. PMP certification is a plus and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BSc/B Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of five years project management experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills with excellent communication.
• Nice-to-have: PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification.

Responsibilities

• Project Management: Manage the entire project lifecycle from internal hand-over to customer delivery, ensuring all deliverables meet client specifications, timelines and budgets.
• Technical and Commercial Engagement: Liaise with clients on technical and commercial matters, providing regular status updates and managing risks.
• Team Coordination: Coordinate with internal product specialists, sales teams and regional branches to drive projects to meet schedules.
• Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
• Travel Requirements: Occasional travel may be required to client sites or regional offices.
• Safety First: Demonstrate commitment to zero harm and a strong safety culture.
