Job summary

The Weir Group in Johannesburg is seeking a Principal Project Engineer to lead capital project delivery from initiation through close-out. You will manage scope, schedule, cost, quality, and safety while coordinating across engineering, planning, manufacturing and suppliers.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering degree, PMP or equivalent, and have 8+ years in capital project execution with 5+ years in senior roles, preferably in mineral processing or related sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• PMP certification or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 8 years' capital project execution experience.
• At least 5 years in a lead project management or senior project engineering role.
• Experience in mineral processing, process plant, or material handling environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to project engineers and cross-functional teams.
• Lead strategic engagement with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee end-to-end capital project execution from initiation to close-out.
• Apply project management and engineering best practices to manage scope, cost and schedule.
• Govern change control, risk, quality and contract obligations.
