Job summary

Weir is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for onsite work in Johannesburg (Alrode). You will manage the full project lifecycle, liaise with clients on technical and commercial matters, and coordinate cross‑functional teams to deliver on time and within budget.

The role emphasizes strong project leadership, ERP proficiency and a commitment to safety. Travel to regional sites may be required and PMP is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in a mechanical or industrial engineering field or related discipline.
• Minimum of five years of project management experience in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational abilities with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage the entire project lifecycle from internal hand‑over to customer delivery, ensuring deliverables meet client specifications, timelines and budgets.
• Act as primary liaison with clients on technical and commercial matters, providing regular project updates and managing risks.
• Coordinate transport, commissioning and technical support with internal product specialists, sales teams and regional branches.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, conduct post‑project closeouts and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
• Occasional travel to client sites or regional offices to support project delivery and coordination.
• Demonstrate commitment to zero harm and safety culture.
