Placements24 is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Polokwane to lead complex construction projects, providing technical leadership and ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to high quality standards.

You will drive planning, design oversight, procurement and construction activities while coordinating with diverse teams and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Pr Eng registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• 7+ years of experience in project engineering or management.
• Proven experience using project management software/tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and materials.

Responsibilities

• Manage all technical aspects of construction projects from planning through completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
• Oversee engineering design, procurement and construction activities.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly competent Senior Project Engineer to play a crucial role in managing and delivering complex construction projects in Polokwane. You will provide technical leadership, oversee project planning and execution, and ensure projects are completed within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, strong project management skills, and excellent stakeholder management capabilities. You will be instrumental in driving project success and contributing to the company's reputation for excellence in the Limpopo province.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all technical aspects of construction projects from planning through to completion.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
• Oversee engineering design, procurement, and construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is highly desirable.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project engineering or management within the construction industry.
• Proven experience with project management software and tools.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, and engineering principles.
