Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Product Development Engineer to lead new product initiatives from concept through to market launch in Mahikeng.

This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes, coupled with strong project management capabilities to drive successful product launches and meet performance, cost, and quality targets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in product development and engineering.
• Proven track record of bringing new products to market.
• Experience with CAD software and PLM tools.
• Strong understanding of materials science, stress analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills for team coordination in North West.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and testing of new mechanical products and systems.
• Translate market requirements into detailed technical specifications and design concepts.
• Conduct rigorous analysis, simulations, and prototyping to validate product designs.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, manufacturing, and supply chain.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful product launches.
• Oversee the transition of new products from R&D to mass production, ensuring manufacturability in Mahikeng.
