Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Process Improvement Engineer for our Richards Bay facility in KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on driving efficiency, quality, and safety improvements across all operations, using Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, deep process engineering knowledge, and the ability to implement sustainable changes in a complex industrial setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or chemical-related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in process engineering in chemicals.
• Lean/Six Sigma experience; certification a plus.
• Strong data analytics and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with safety standards (HAZOP) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify efficiency gains and cost reductions.
• Develop and implement process-improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen.
• Design and optimize workflows, equipment utilization, and material flow.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret production data to monitor process performance.
• Create SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation; lead CAPA activities.
