Placements24 is seeking a Senior Process Control Engineer for its client in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced process control systems across production facilities to optimize plant performance and product quality.

You will develop control strategies (PID, MPC, fuzzy logic), troubleshoot automation hardware/software, and lead integration projects while ensuring reliability and security of control networks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in process control engineering within manufacturing/chemical environments.
• Proficient with DCS platforms and PLC programming; strong instrumentation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement DCS and PLCs for manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and implement Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for manufacturing processes.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems, instrumentation, and automation hardware/software.
• Develop and maintain process control documentation, including P&IDs, logic diagrams, and loop drawings.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify areas for improvement in process control.
• Lead projects related to automation upgrades and new control system installations.
• Ensure the reliability and security of control systems and networks.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
