Placements24 is seeking a proficient Controls and Automation Engineer to enhance automated systems and manufacturing processes in Port Elizabeth. You will design, develop, implement and maintain PLC, HMI and SCADA systems to optimize production efficiency and reliability.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics and 5+ years of hands-on automation experience, with expertise in Siemens S7, Rockwell AB, and HMI/SCADA software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems.
• Proficiency with major PLC platforms (e.g., Siemens S7, Rockwell Allen-Bradley) and HMI/SCADA software.
• Experience with industrial networks (e.g., Profibus, Ethernet/IP) and VFDs.
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and control logic.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation control strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
