Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Process Chemist to advance our R&D operations in Randburg. You will translate laboratory-scale syntheses into robust, scalable, cost-effective manufacturing processes while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role combines hands-on synthesis optimization with collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams, in a hybrid work model that balances lab work with remote flexibility and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in process chemistry, scale-up, and optimization.
• Strong understanding of chemical reaction engineering, thermodynamics, and mass transfer.
• Experience with process safety assessments and regulatory compliance.

• Develop and optimize chemical synthesis routes for scale-up, focusing on safety, efficiency, and cost.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement appropriate safety measures.
