Job summary

Conductio Consulting is seeking a hands-on Practice Manager / Accounting Operations Manager to oversee daily operations and drive growth in a growing accounting practice. The role includes ownership of operations, leading a small team, and building scalable processes.

You will manage client relationships, ensure timely deliverables, and implement systems that scale with the business while remaining compliant with accounting standards.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) or SAIPA Professional Accountant required or in progress.
• Completed articles with 5–10 years post-articles experience preferred.
• Strong accounting practice or professional services experience essential.
• Proven experience managing and developing staff.
• Experience handling multiple clients, priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of day-to-day running of the accounting practice.
• Lead and develop a team of ~5 employees, with growth planned.
• Recruit and build additional teams or departments as the business grows.
• Allocate work and manage team capacity and workflow.
• Ensure deadlines and client commitments are consistently met.
• Implement and improve processes, workflows, controls and accountability.
• Train and develop staff to improve technical capability.
• Monitor performance against targets and address gaps.
• Work directly with clients and manage queries and issues.
• Maintain high quality, compliant and professional standards.
