Placements24 is seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager for a distinguished asset management firm in Rustenburg, North West. You will lead investment strategies, construct and manage portfolios, and drive risk-adjusted returns for clients through rigorous research and disciplined asset allocation.

The ideal candidate has a CFA/CFP or master's degree, 7+ years in asset management, and strong communication skills to engage clients and collaborate with analysts, traders, and compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related field; Master's or CFA/CFP preferred.
• At least 7 years in portfolio management or asset management.
• Proven track record of delivering investment objectives.
• Knowledge of asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives) and strategies.
• Proficient in financial modeling and statistical analysis.
• Strong understanding of risk management principles.
• Excellent communication and client engagement skills.
• Familiarity with the South African regulatory framework.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement investment strategies across asset classes.
• Construct and manage portfolios including asset allocation and risk budgeting.
• Conduct fundamental and macro research to identify opportunities and risks.
• Monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Engage with clients to understand goals and communicate performance.
• Collaborate with researchers, traders and investment professionals.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Manage portfolio risk and hedging strategies as needed.
• Stay informed on market trends and geopolitical developments.
• Prepare and present investment reports and market commentary.
