Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Investment Portfolio Manager for a prestigious investment management firm in Cape Town. You will develop and execute investment strategies, conduct market research, and make asset allocation decisions to drive superior risk-adjusted returns.

With a Master's in Finance or related field and 8+ years of portfolio management experience ( CFA preferred), you will lead client relationships, supervise analysts, and ensure compliance while delivering consistent

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in investment management/portfolio management or similar.
• CFA designation is highly preferred.
• Proven track record of managing portfolios and achieving objectives.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and valuation techniques.
• Excellent quantitative/analytical and modeling skills.
• Strong communication and client-relations abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with investment management software and tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with client objectives and risk tolerances.
• Construct and manage portfolios across equities, fixed income, and alternatives.
• Conduct fundamental and macroeconomic research to identify opportunities and risks.
• Monitor performance and market conditions, adjusting as needed.
• Engage with clients to understand goals and provide updates/recommendations.
• Collaborate with analysts and trading teams for efficient execution.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Contribute to development of new investment products and strategies.
• Manage client relationships with transparency and consistent performance.
