Job summary

Impala is seeking an Engineering Superintendent (Plant) to coordinate and liaise on a tactical level for engineering support services. The role requires a Mechanical Engineering Diploma or equivalent, and proven experience in processing and smelting environments, with strong SAP and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities include maintaining plant efficiency, implementing contingency plans, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety and engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering Diploma or NQF 6 equivalent is essential.
• A Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Engineering Foreman in Processing (Internal) is essential.
• A Minimum of 3 years' experience as an Engineering Superintendent in Smelting (External) is essential.
• Computer literacy (MS Office package) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Achieves and maintains plant and equipment efficiency and running time.
• Implements contingency plans to reduce production losses.
• Implements effective operational and tactical management principles and procedures.
• Effectively monitors costs through budgeting and project management methodologies.
• Ensures compliance and reviews legislative and engineering standards.
• Ensures adherence to Impala's standards and procedures.
• Oversee Foremen performance, maintenance and infrastructure equipment.
• Managing of Shut down tasks and implementation of Maintenance tactics.
• Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives.
• Builds, supports and maintains healthy diverse internal and external relations and implements remedial actions where required.
• Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.
• Participates in regular safety meetings and makes recommendations to ensure overall safety.
