Job summary

Fluor Corporation seeks a Lead Piping Engineer to provide technical leadership for piping engineering on large-scale projects in South Africa. You will plan, coordinate, and review piping design work, ensuring compliance with project requirements, international codes, and Fluor procedures.

Lead teams, mentor engineers, and support bid and project execution activities. The role emphasizes design leadership, safety, quality, and collaboration across multiple disciplines to deliver cost-effective

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
12–15 years piping engineering experience in metal/mining industries.
Experience leading piping teams on EPC/EPCM or detailed engineering projects.
Strong knowledge of piping design principles and plant layouts.
Experience with piping stress analysis and flexibility assessments.
Proficiency with engineering software used for piping design.

Responsibilities

Lead piping engineering for projects from conceptual design through closeout.
Develop and implement piping execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resources.
Coordinate activities of piping engineers, designers, and support personnel.
Review deliverables including P&IDs, piping material specs, isometrics, and layouts.
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and Fluor procedures.
Coordinate interfaces with process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, and construction teams.
Mentor junior engineers and support proposal work when required.
