Placements24 is seeking a Senior Pharmaceutical Market Access Manager for East London, Eastern Cape. You will develop and implement market access strategies, engaging payers, health authorities, and key opinion leaders to demonstrate value and secure favorable reimbursement and formulary placement.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in market access, health economics, or a related function within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing market access strategies.
• Deep knowledge of healthcare systems, payer landscape, and reimbursement policies in South Africa and/or other relevant markets.
• Strong HEOR methodologies, analytical, strategic thinking and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute market access strategies for new and existing pharmaceutical products in line with commercial objectives.
• Conduct HEOR studies to demonstrate value to payers and healthcare systems.
• Engage with national and regional payers, government bodies, and stakeholders to secure optimal market access and reimbursement.
• Develop value dossiers and negotiation materials to support pricing and submissions.
• Monitor market access landscape, identifying opportunities and threats.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, medical, and regulatory teams to align on market access strategies.
• Build relationships with KOLs and patient advocacy groups.
• Provide market access expertise and training to internal teams.
• Analyze competitor market access strategies and identify best practices.
• Track and report on key market access metrics and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive market access strategies for new and existing pharmaceutical products in line with commercial objectives.
• Conduct health economic and outcomes research (HEOR) to generate evidence demonstrating the value of our products to payers and healthcare systems.
• Engage with national and regional payers, government bodies, and other key stakeholders to secure optimal market access and reimbursement.
• Develop value dossiers and negotiation materials to support pricing and reimbursement submissions.
• Monitor the evolving market access and reimbursement landscape, identifying opportunities and threats.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, medical affairs, and regulatory affairs, to ensure alignment on market access strategies.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and patient advocacy groups.
• Provide market access expertise and training to internal teams.
• Analyze competitor market access strategies and identify best practices.
• Track and report on key market access metrics and outcomes.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Health Economics, Public Health, Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in market access, health economics, or a related function within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing market access strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of healthcare systems, payer landscape, and reimbursement policies in South Africa and/or other relevant markets.
• Strong understanding of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical pricing and policy environments.
