Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 years hands-on experience in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Expertise in developing various dosage forms and understanding drug delivery principles.
• Proficiency with GMP and regulatory guidelines (FDA, SAHPRA).
• Strong documentation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical dosage forms (oral solids, injectables, topical).
• Conduct pre-formulation studies including solubility and stability assessments.
• Scale-up formulation processes from lab to pilot and production scale.
• Prepare technical reports and regulatory submission documents.
• Troubleshoot formulation and manufacturing issues.
• Collaborate with analytics, process development, and regulatory teams.
• Mentor junior scientists and provide technical guidance.
