Placements24 seeks a Lead Pharmaceutical Quality Control Analyst in Randburg, Gauteng. You will lead a QC team performing testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products to ensure regulatory compliance and product safety.

The role requires an advanced degree in chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences and at least 7 years in QC, including 2 years in leadership. Strong methods like HPLC/GC-MS and LIMS experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years in pharmaceutical quality control.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QC Analysts, overseeing daily laboratory operations.
• Develop, validate, and implement analytical methods for raw materials, intermediates, and finished products using HPLC, GC, spectroscopy, and titration.
• Perform complex analytical testing and interpret results per pharmacopoeial standards (USP, EP) and internal specs.
• Review and approve analytical data, notebooks, and reports.
• Investigate OOS/OOT results and implement CAPAs.
• Ensure calibration, maintenance, and qualification of lab equipment per procedures.
• Maintain GMP/GLP compliance and SAHPRA regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D, Production, and QA to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
• Contribute to audits and stay updated on regulatory changes.
