Job summary

The Recruitment People is seeking a Fund Accountant based in Sandton to provide independent oversight of the Funds' financial management and accounting performed by outsourced service providers. You will oversee financial oversight, investment accounting, expenditure management and reporting.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years' accounting or financial management experience, with at least 3 years in retirement funds or financial services, and exposure to governance, audits and regulatory support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce.
• Professional accounting qualification (SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent).
• 5–10 years' accounting or financial management experience.
• At least 3 years' experience within retirement fund, employee benefits or financial services environment.
• Experience reviewing investment statements and investment management fees.
• Experience reviewing service provider contracts and invoices.
• Experience preparing Board financial reports.
• Experience with outsourced Fund Administrators, Investment Managers.
• Experience supporting governance structures within a retirement fund.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent financial oversight of Funds' management and accounting performed by outsourced providers.
• Oversee investment accounting and investment management fees.
• Manage expenditure and service provider financial management.
• Prepare and present financial reporting.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and service providers.
